If you live in Kaduna, you can pretty much tell that trips to Abuja are a norm for folks in the city. We don’t have the data but we do know that a lot of trips are completed on a weekly basis between the two cities. With the completion of the rail line, a more convenient means of travel was added for travellers.
The Abuja – Kaduna train schedule was updated in August to accommodate the high demand on the trains on weekends. Currently, there are 4 trips on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday whereas, only 2 trips on Wednesday.
Tickets are still yet to be made available online which means that you can only purchase it at the station. The sale of tickets starts an hour before the trip hence, to secure your trip, you should be at the station at least 30 minutes before departure time in order to buy your tickets.

First class tickets cost
N2,500 for the normal trip and N3000 for the express trip.
Economy tickets cost

The train trip is the safest and most convenient way to travel however, if you’re in a rush, you won’t be so excited about the time as you have to purchase the tickets at least 30 minutes before the trip to be guaranteed a seat and also spend up to two and half hours for the journey. Nonetheless, it is a great experience.
